Our client approached us to refurbish East Cottage, just outside St Andrews. The cottage was run down with damp issues; a labyrinth of rooms in a fairly small cottage; an unkempt garden; an ancient boiler system in the lounge; an unused outhouse; and generally a lack of finesse. The owner wished to convert the cottage to holiday let use and be engaging with some “wow” to set it apart from the competition.
We detailed a plan and timeline to tackle the required work. Our tradesmen took the cottage back to the shell in places, re-plumbed, re-wired and made good all defects.
A new kitchen and bathroom were installed and new furniture and furnishings were presented throughout. The “wow” factor was achieved with a set of bi-fold doors to the garden, a wood burning hot tub under a bespoke gazebo and wood panelling throughout the cottage.
